The Ice Flyers showed their playoff magic is still going strong. Stephen Hrehoriak scored the go-ahead goal with 1:32 left as the Flyers beat the Fayetteville FireAntz 2-1 to win their opening round playoff series two games to none.

Ken Neil made a great pass from behind the net to feed Hrehoriak for the score. Neil also assisted on the Flyers first goal on a beautiful two on one break set up to Andrew Schmit with :27 left in the second period.

The FireAntz, seeded second to start the playoffs, had tied the game on a Lawrence Cornellier goal with 2:26 left. The seventh seeded Flyers move on to face top seeded Macon in the SPHL Semifinals.

It's early in the Wahoos season, but they've quickly gotten back to a familiar position.

The Wahoos are at 4 - 2 after winning the series opener in Biloxi Wednesday night.

They won with a score of 5 - 2.

Addison Russell had hit a bunch of doubles early in the season, but no homers in the first eight games.

He took care of that Thursday against the Dodgers.

The Pace High grad left no doubt launching the ball out of Wrigley Field and on to Waveland Avenue. It traveled an estimated 417 feet.

Russell's long ball helped the Cubs beat the Dodgers 4-0.
