A three-speed in the NCAA Tournament means your pretty highly respected, but that could be different for Florida State.

Lots of experts seem to be picking Florida Gulf Coast to upset the Seminoles.

Their first round game is Thursday in Orlando.

It's FSU's first big dance since 2012 that may have something to do with the perception.

There's a lot of focus on the Seminoles young talented guys like Dwayne Bacon and Jonathan Issac.

Xavier Rathan Mayers may be the biggest key to a deep run.

The senior has had to take a bit of a backseat the last couple of years and switch positions, but he's kept it positive throughout.

It wasn't a stretch to think the return of Coach Rod Aldoff might lead to some former players coming back to the Ice Flyers, and you can chalk one up.

Stephen Buco has rejoined the team.

The forward started the season in Pensacola, but left in November to go back home for family reasons.

Buco was a key guy in last seasons championship run. In 46 games he had 16 goals, 23 assists and added three goals in the playoffs.

The Flyers play at Mississippi on Friday, then back on the home ice Saturday and Sunday.

The Pensacola Sports Awards Banquet is being headlined by the Human Highlight Film. Former NBA star Dominique Wilkins is the guest speaker.

Wilkins, was a nine time all-star, mostly playing for the Atlanta Hawks. The guy was a dunk machine in his heyday and incredible to watch.

The human highlight film can't throw it down like the old days, but he brings a strong message about succeeding over the long haul.
