Week One Preview

Updated: Friday, August 30 2013, 07:30 PM CDT
All across the gulf coast high school football players are gearing up.
Soon, they  will be taking to the field for the first game of the season.

Steve Nissim is here with a preview of tonight's big match ups.
Prep Football is back, a full slate of games tonight..
We'll have it all covered on Prep Football Final at 11.

A lot of intriguing matchups to kick things off.
Catholic is hosting Navarre in a battle of ranked teams.
The Crusaders eyeing some revenge. The Raiders blew them out 26-0 last season..
Navarre lost a lot of their key guys  while Catholic with a bunch of returners.
Two other interesting games are also Santa Rosa versus Okaloosa matchups..
Milton hosting Crestview and Pace at Choctaw..
We'll also have defending state champ Northview opening up at home against Panama City Bozeman.

We expect to have video of twelve different games tonight..

Our first spotlight story of the season will be on the new head coach at Tate.
Ronnie Douglas, the third head coach in three years for that program...
It's been a rough stretch for the Aggies, just one winning season in the last eight years...
Douglas brings an interesting background.  Out of coaching for 18 years found success as a businessman..
But got back in coaching a few years ago.  Has worked his way to the top job at his Alma Mater and has a plan for resurgence.
So far at least, Douglas seem to have renewed some optimism in the players...
Plus our first Scholar Athlete of the Week is Catholic's Emon Smith.
All of it jam packed on Prep Football Final
