Choctaw falls in State Championship Game

The 7A State Championship Game was a huge contrast in styles, and Doral Academy was able to dictate the tempo on Choctaw.

The Indians were held 21 points below their previous lowest point total of the season and lost 43-38.

Star point guard Josh Williams got into foul trouble in the 1st half, and had to sit for a long stretch, hurting the Indians chances.

Choctaw was down 12 points heading to the 4th quarter but would battle back within 1 on a Diante Smith three with :17 left.

Smith then had a chance to tie in the final seconds but his three rimmed out with under five seconds to go. Smith led the Indians scoring with 12 points.

Choctaw ends a tremendous season 27-3, coming up one game short of the program's first state title.
