In the past four weeks West Florida Tech has been off the charts dominant. A slow start to the season now well behind them, the jaguars are delivering on lofty expectations.
There were lots of reasons to like West Florida’s chances this season, but a tough early schedule and some injuries led to losing two of their first three.
The jaguars were disappointed but felt no cause for alarm.
They bounced back with a big district road win at Mosley, but it was week five against undefeated Gulf Breeze that proved a turning point.
West Florida stormed out a 28-7 lead and held on for what is still the dolphins only loss, a night that convinced the jags they were back on track.
It's a lights out defense that's leading the way.
Since mid-season they're allowing an average of four points.
Senior linebacker Kalia Davis is the captain and leading tackler.
The Central Florida commit consistently delivers on his talent.
A young secondary developing has been key, but d's the biggest strength is up front. With three big time players in Antonio Moultrie, Vidal Scott, and adagios McWilliams, Moultrie, has made a remarkable transformation from a guy who's played four different positions to a division one prospect.
A late growth spurt, combined with impressive athleticism is really working on the D-line.
It all come together with remarkable results. Dominant is an understrength, in a four week stretch they've outscored opponents 154-16.
