UWF softball punches World Series ticket
For most of Friday afternoon it looked like the NCAA South Super Regional would need a third and decisive game. Through five innings UWF was being no hit and trailed Lee 4-0.
The Argos erupted for seven runs in the top of the sixth inning and went on to beat Lee 7-6 to take the Super Regional two games to none.
Meghan Toney started the scoring frenzy with a two RBI singles and Baleigh Boltz put UWF in front with a two RBI triples. UWF advances to the College World Series for the third time in program history and first since 2003.
The eight team double elimination tournament starts Thursday in Salem, Virginia.
