Emotional Spencer big part of UWF success
PENSACOLA, Fla. (WEAR) —
It's hard to wrap your head around.
UWF, in just their 2nd season of playing football, is in the national quarterfinals.
We'll call it mind-boggling, but that's probably too mild.
Next up is a trip to face the region top seed, and a team they're familiar with at West Alabama.
The Argos magical run rolled on at West Georgia on Saturday. They won in Carrolton for the second time in three weeks.
The 17-14 victory was even more stunning when you consider they turned it over five times and missed two short field goals.
Incredible work on defense made it possible.
That side played lights-out, and a lot of different guys stepped up at different times.
That includes PHS graduate Jalen Spencer. He had five tackles and a touchdown-saving pass breakup.
Spencer transferred in this season as a graduate student, his football career at Division-I South Florida wrecked by injuries.
He's meant a lot to the Argos success, and it's been a very special deal for him too.
