Spencer comes home for second chance
UWF football continues to add more local athletes, including guys that initially signed with Division One programs.
Jalen Spencer is a great example of coming home for a second chance. Spencer was a do-everything superstar at Pensacola High School and signed a scholarship with South Florida, but injuries devastated his time in Tampa.
He had a broken leg before he even arrived, then he tore up his shoulder two years in a row, and add in a broken arm to top it off.
Spencer used his time off the field wisely, completing his degree, and when he learned this summer he would be granted another year of eligibility, the decision to come home to UWF was easy.
The Argos are thrilled to have him and Spencer is quickly making an impact at cornerback. Spencer has a 4-year-old son. Even more the motivation for being home, and making the most of his opportunity.
