UWF women advance in NCAA Regionals
UWF women's basketball won their opening game in the NCAA D-II South Regional, matching the deepest run in program history.
The second-seeded Argos beat seventh-seeded Nova Southeastern 66-57 in the regional being played at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg. Toni Brewer and Katie Bobos both registered double doubles, Brewer with 22 points and 13 rebounds; Bobos had 20 points and 10 rebounds.
UWF now 26-6 on the season, advances to face 3rd seeded Benedict (SC) on Saturday at 4 p.m. central time. A win would put the Argos into a regional final for the first time ever.
