Healthy Blandino returns to Wahoos
Alex Blandino is one of just six returning players for the Wahoos. The former first round pick is hoping is deliver on his potential after a disappointing 2016 season.
Blandino's arrival at the AA level came with so much promise and the 2014 first round pick out of Stanford produced a few hot streaks, but overall his offensive numbers are not too pretty.
Blandino hit just .232 last season. Health played a big part in the struggles.
Preseason injuries to his hip and hamstring plagued him all year. Those issues are gone now and that showed in spring training.
Defensively, Blandino has always been solid. The California native is also versatile. He'll play primarily at second base, but should also see time at third and short.
However, he knows it's the consistency on offense that will make the difference in advancing his career.
