Hannah Mackenzie comes to the Sunshine State from the Lone Star State, and is thrilled to be in northwest Florida! Hannah joined the Channel 3 News team in June 2016 as the morning reporter. She has since been promoted to weekend anchor/producer and weekday reporter.
Soon after arriving in Pensacola, Hannah launched ‘Mission Pawssible’, a monthly segment raising awareness about overcrowded shelters, with the goal of finding forever homes for our four-legged friends.
Before arriving in Florida, Hannah worked as a multi-media journalist and anchor/producer for the FOX affiliate in McAllen, Texas. Her most memorable stories on the Texas/Mexico border include covering the humanitarian crisis, drug cartel violence and border security.
She may be a "Texas girl" at heart, but it wasn't always that way. Hannah moved to Houston from Aberdeen, Scotland in 1999. In 2010, she and her family proudly became American citizens. Hannah graduated from the University of Texas at Austin (Hook'em!) in May 2013 with a Bachelors degree in Journalism.
From an early age it was Hannah's ambition to pursue a career in television. She attributes her love for journalism to her family - her Mum worked in television in Scotland, and her granddad was a well-respected journalist and published author.
Outside the newsroom, you'll likely find Hannah in the gym or hanging out around downtown Pensacola. Hannah loves animals, especially her dog, Izzy and Bengal cat, Louis - who does tricks for treats! She also loves following her favorite baseball team, the Astros.
A beach lover, Hannah couldn't be more excited to be reporting for WEAR here in Pensacola, Florida. If you see her around, be sure to say hi!
