Jackalyn Kovac joined Channel 3 News in December 2015 after spending two years as a reporter in Johnstown, Pa.
She grew up in a Pittsburgh, Pa. suburb and graduated from Waynesburg University a semester early.
Jackalyn has spent more than four years in a newsroom, whether she was interning for stations in Pittsburgh or writing newscasts as a producer in Steubenville, Ohio.
She has covered a slew of different stories as a producer and reporter, including the death of a Pennsylvania police officer and a rape case involving minors that went national in Ohio.
Some of her favorite pieces include stories that showcase the impact on a community.
She and her husband, Josiah, have been married since 2011. They have two dogs, Boo (a bichon-poodle) and Minnie (a yorkie).
Jackalyn's family still lives in Pittsburgh and because of that, she will stay a dedicated Pittsburgh-sports fan. Her professional sport of choice is hockey and frequently cheers on the Pittsburgh Penguins and Tampa Bay Lightning to victory (unless they play each other. Go Pens!)
She is happy to call Pensacola home and ready to be an adopted Floridian.
