UPDATE: Source of mysterious stomach bug discovered
We have an update about the mysterious stomach bug that has popped up across the US.
It's called Cyclospora, and the Centers for Disease Control may have found the source of the outbreak.
The first case was reported in Iowa, in June.
The CDC and the Public Health Department of Iowa, say the cases in Iowa and Nebraska have been linked to a prepackaged salad mix containing iceberg and romaine lettuce, as well as carrots and red cabbage.
More than 370 people in 16 states, including Florida, have reported symptoms from this intestinal bug.
At least 21 people have been hospitalized.
There are antibiotics that can be taken to fight the bug, but it's important to get to a doctor as soon as the symptoms occur.
Doctors and health experts stress that the best way to fight the parasite is to wash all your produce and remember to wash your hands.
