Confirmed cases of Pertussis or Whooping Cough reported in Okaloosa County

OKALOOSA COUNTY   --  Two confirmed cases of Pertussis or 'Whooping Cough' as its commonly called, has been reported in infants in Okaloosa County.
   
And a possible third infant may also have Pertusis.
Whooping Cough is very contagious and can be fatal for infants.
   
The Florida Department of Health in Okaloosa say these cases are not signs of an outbreak as they're not related.
   
The best way to prevent Whooping Cough is for all young children to get their immunization shots.
     
All three infants have been treated and are recovering.
