Angels In Our Midst (Nina Fritz)
"It's been just my passion," Nina Fritz said. "Every morning, I wake up and I look forward to painting." Nina Fritz's family will tell you if she's painting, she's happy. She began doing watercolors in the 1960's and has recently turned to oils as her favorite medium. Her art forms are as varied as the world around her. "I do the figures. I do plenair. I do the still life. Especially people; I love doing faces," said Fritz. Nina captures only the good things in life; the things worth sharing. She does a lot of giving of her talent. Norm Fritz, Nina's Husband; It's a gift from God. I think that she just feels that God has been so good to her and blessed her that she tries to give back. Nina donates her talent to non-profit organizations for auction. She commits to doing one of her prized portraits for the winning bidder with their money going to the charity. Jeff Nall, Council on Aging; "Most notably, we do the Meals on Wheels program and offer Alzheimer's respite care. With limited government funding, sometimes we're really struggling here. So this allows us that flexibility and that emergency room." Last year, her donations to local charities totaled more than $10,000. Nina's never thought about it in terms of the amount of money or time. Nina; "It's very simple. This is something that I can do. And so, it's just been wonderful. I feel privileged to be able to do it." Norm; "She does not say, no. When they come and ask her, the answer is, yes, and she says God makes time for it in my schedule." Jeff; "It's very important for a non-profit organization to have that name recognition when people are looking at those bid sheets. That really means something to have a Nina First piece or portrait setting." Nina; If it will help out in some small way, that's my contribution. Angels In Our Midst is brought to you by Sacred Heart Children's Hospital."
