Okaloosa County Chaplain training

OKALOOSA COUNTY   --  Police Chaplains got some very realistic training today at the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office.

They role-played situations including domestic violence, suicide, and an officer having a heart attack during a traffic stop.

The chaplains came from all over the southeast for the training.
Some of them have never worked with law enforcement before.

Chaplain Larry Carter/OCSO "In these scenarios, you can say "time out". But if you're with a deputy or policeman on a rural street someplace, the bad guy is not going to say well, time out"

This is the first time the Okaloosa Sheriff's Office has hosted a regional training for chaplains.

Most of them are volunteers in their communities.
