Ice Flyers win game one in league championship series

PENSACOLA, Fla. -- The Ice Flyers opened the league championship series Tuesday at the Pensacola Bay Center.

Game one of a best-of-three series with the Huntsville Havoc occurred last night. The Havoc scored first late in the first period. After two periods it became one-one.

Dan Buccella went behind the net and threw the puck off the skate of Huntsville's goalie, Jess Kallechy.

Buccella scored the game winning goal and he wasn't even supposed to be on the ice. "Vossberg told me after the game 'Bucky, you weren't supposed to be out that shift. And I don't know if you didn't hear or not, but you just jumped out and went' So I just jumped out and the puck ended up getting shot behind the net," said Buccella.

The Flyers won game one and the series moves to Huntsville for game two on Friday. If there is a game three it would be back in Pensacola on Sunday.
