Search continues for missing Fla. boys

TAMPA, Fla. -- The Coast Guard is asking boaters on the Gulf of Mexico to be on the lookout for two boys who have been missing from Tampa for several days.

Police say Joshua Hakken and his wife, Sharyn, took their sons Chase and Cole from the boys' grandmother's home last Wednesday.

The couple does not have custody.

A man called authorities saying he had recently sold a 25-foot sailboat to Joshua Hakken.

When investigators arrived at the dock, they found an empty slip and Hakken's abandoned truck.

"We've said all along, making irrational decisions doesn't always make you unintelligent. We know he's a very intelligent individual. He's an engineer."

The Coast Guard is asking anyone who sees the boat to call the authorities.

Hakken and his wife are considered armed and dangerous.

Investigators are also continuing their search on land.
