Carnival plans to spend $300 million in upgrades to ships

MIAMI   --  Carnival Cruise Lines plans to spend 300-million dollars to improve safety aboard all of its ships.

The Miami based Carnival says the money will go towards installing an additional emergency generator on every ship.
   
Carnival is also installing high-pressure upgraded water mist systems on all ships to improve fire safety.
