Hurlburt Airman honored for saving drowning kids

HURLBURT FIELD -- A Hurlburt Field Airman is being honored for risking his own life to save three children.

In April 2011 Captain Brian Steorts saved three children from drowning while at the beach on Okaloosa Island.

Steorts is a pilot from the 319th Special Operations Squadron.
Today he received the Airman's Medal for his act of heroism.
   
The Airman's Medal is given to those who show great courage and selflessness outside the field of battle by risking their lives for others.
