Hangout Fest 2013

GULF SHORES   --  Thousands of music fans have taken over Gulf Shores for this year's Hangout Music Festival.
People have traveled from all over the country to enjoy the three day beach side bash.

3-day passes are completely sold out.
No word yet on exactly how many tickets have been sold.

But last year the musical festival drew about 35,000 fans to Gulf Shores.
The three day event draws in an estimated $30 million dollars.

It has been a busy day all day here at Hangout.
We're jamming out here at Hangout Fest today.

There's 21 acts performing today across 5 different stages.
I came across people who have waited a whole year for this weekend.

It's the moment many Hangout Fans have been waiting for, some of them since last year.
From the moment they get on the shuttle bus, to the main gate.

"Thank you darling have a good time"
Missy Boulrice - New York
"Toots and the Maytals first, Kings of Leon tonight is good I've seen them before"

Missy Boulrice traveled all the way from New York City for Hangout Fest.
She says concerts in the Big Apple has nothing on this.

Missy Boulrice - New York
"You can see 80 different shows for the cost of one show in New York and in New York you have alot of people in a small venue, here you have the wide open space"

Zeke Brown - Atlanta
"I just went off this high jumpy thing with my best friend Rhett and we're having a good time"
To good food, and even the VIP treatment...
Katelyn Niland - Mobile
"They do treat you really well, they're always walking around to take your trash, ask you if you need anything"

And to top it off 12 hours of music across several stages, all weekend long.
And it would seem, many people are waiting to hear one particular music legend on Sunday.

"Definitely came here to see Stevie Wonder"
"Stevie Wonder is cool for me to check out for sure"

"Sunday, oooh, we have Stevie Wonder, Yes we have Stevie Wonder. Whooo, so excited" >>
Kings of Leon will be one of the headline acts tonight.
And the weather is looking good for the rest of the evening.
