Unique species of Bass

Some Northwest Florida rivers are home to a unique species of bass.
Florida Fish and Wildlife Researchers want to name it the "choctaw bass."

It's similar to the spotted bass but the scientists used DNA testing to prove the Choctaw Bass is its own species.

They've found the new bass in several rivers from the Perdido to the Choctawhatchee.
The American Fisheries Society must approve the new name before it's official.
