Delta fined for passenger overbookings

The transportation department has fined Delta airlines $750,000 for bumping passengers involuntarily.

The agency reviewed 310 complaints about how it handled overbookings from November of 2010 to January of 2012.

They found numerous cases where delta failed to tell overbooked passengers of the rights to receive payments, failed to provide written notice, or failed to seek volunteers before bumping passengers.
