STEMM Center futures in jeopardy
VALPARAISO -- The future of a Valparaiso school that offers unique classes like aviation and robotics is in jeopardy.
The STEMM Center offers a hands-on experience for students interested in becoming anything from a scientist to an engineer.
But the Okaloosa County superintendent says if enrollment doesn't go up-- the program may be cut.
So far--- 57 - 6th graders are expected next school year and 79 -- 7th graders.
But the superintendent says that's not enough.
"It's so much more fun than I think a regular school would be, because there's so many different things that we can do to help the future be a better place for the world"
The center's director says it's simply too soon to tell how many students are expected next year.
But says he is confident there will be more than enough.
