Marine Corp expects to be first military branch with operational F-35 squadron

The Marine Corps expects to be the first military branch to have a fully operational F-35 squadron.

Congress asked the different branches when they'll reach "Initial Operational Capability" with the Joint Strike Fighter.
The Marines say their first F-35-B Squadron will be up and running by December 2015.
The Air Force says December 2016 for the F-35-A.
The Navy, February 2019 for the Carrier version.
The Joint Strike Fighter has been in development since 1996.
Right now, all branches are training their first flight instructors and maintenance teams.
