Weather Alert

On the map below, the circle over the Gulf of Mexico is for an area of low pressure heading toward Texas.  Development is not expected.  Also, we're tracking Cristobal and a tropical wave over the Atlantic Ocean that may become another depression though chances are low.

Sertoma 4th of July celebration

PENSACOLA   --  Rain or shine the big Independence Day celebration in Pensacola  *will go on.
In addition to fireworks, the Sertoma Club event includes pony rides, live music, food, and a hot dog eating contest.

It's all scheduled for Seville Square, Thursday from 11 am to 6 pm
Organizers say if there's light rain everything will go on as planned.
But if it gets too heavy and there's a safety issue, the event may be canceled.

"If it rains, will you still come out?"
Troy Taylor, Pensacola: "Probably"
Lisa Tomasino, Visiting from Jacksonville: "If it rains, we'll just hang out inside and watch 'em from the indoor window somewhere."
Vendors, meanwhile, are expected to set up tents to keep everyone dry in Seville Square if necessary
