485 jobs coming to Escambia County

Pensacola, Fla. - Florida Governor Rick Scott is in Pensacola this morning for a joint jobs announcement with iGate Corp. and West Fraser Timber Co.

The two companies will be hiring as many as 485 employees, combined, according to a release from the Greater Pensacola Chamber.

iGate owns CHCS Services, an information technology company that plans to expand its corporate headquarters in downtown Pensacola. The company will be hiring as many as 385 workers.

West Fraser is re-opening its sawmill in Escambia County, and the Chamber says the forestry company will ultimately hire more than 100 people.

The Chamber says with the addition of the jobs announced today, they will surpass their Vision 2015 goal of creating 3,000 high-wage jobs.
