Santa Rosa County unveils new campaign to lure in tourists

SANTA ROSA -- Santa Rosa County wants potential visitors to know how much fun they can have in Milton and Navarre.  They're unveiling a new campaign, rebranding the county as “Florida’s playground." There's no shortage of fun stuff to do here in Northwest Florida. And letting folks in other parts of the country know that is the goal of the campaign.
From kayaking in Coldwater Creek…to catching a wave on the coastline.
From taking a dip in a cool stream ....to fishing off the Navarre Beach Pier...The tourist development council wants to spread the word that in Santa Rosa County you're free to explore at your own pace and your own budget.
Lindsey Werts, visitor from Panama City Beach said, "This whole area's a little raw and untouched."
Lindsey and Chris Werts are visiting Adventures Unlimited in Milton. They say they wanted to take a break from their home in Panama City Beach where it can get a bit too crowded.
“It's nice to get away and have a little space and enjoy the outdoors the way it's supposed to be enjoyed,” said Lindsey Werts.
Chris Werts, said, "We're excited...There's places to stay and a bunch of activities."
The new brand will be launched Wednesday with promotions running in print, on the radio, and in social media.
Visiting from Brewton, Keith miller said, "If you like the deep woods and the tranquility of it and just maybe sittin' and reading a book while the kids swim...It's nice."
The campaign is focused mainly on luring in folks from southeastern states who are a car ride away.
