Section of Intracoastal Waterway deemed unsafe

PANAMA CITY / DESTIN   --  A four-mile section of the Intracoastal Waterway has been deemed unsafe.

The U.S. Coast Guard has closed down the channel between Panama City and Destin.
   
That's from Mile Marker 262 to Mile Marker 266 in Walton County.
They say a device that regulates the water levels broke, causing the water to rise to an unsafe level.
 
Boaters are urged to use extreme caution.
