Elderly woman attacked in her home

ESCAMBIA COUNTY   --  Deputies say a 92 year-old woman was attacked in her Escambia County home and now they're looking for a suspect.

Investigators say a man barged into her house on Lillian Highway around 1 pm yesterday afternoon.

The victim told deputies it all started when a man knocked on her front door asking about an item for sale.

She said as they were standing on the porch talking, the suspect pushed her inside the home and began rummaging through her house.
The victim tried to get away, but she told deputies the man then  grabbed her and pushed her back inside.
Investigators say the suspect left in a red, two-door car with a Florida license plate.
Ken Gray, Neighbor:  Ken Gray, Neighbor:  "Very surprising.  I've never had anything like that happening down here before."

Neighbors were shocked to hear about the crime.
Jeannie Lukkar, neighbor: "I feel terrible about it happening. She's a very sweet lady. I can't think of anything worse to happen to a 92 year-old woman than a home invasion."
Deputies say the victim is okay.
The suspect is believed to be in his late 20's, about six foot tall with an athletic build.
Investigators say he was wearing a blue T-shirt with a cross design and dark pants.
Right now it's unclear what if anything he may have taken from the home.
Ken Gray, Neighbor: "It makes me angry. I want whoever did this brought to justice."
