Okaloosa County property taxes may rise

OKALOOSA COUNTY   --  Property taxes in Okaloosa County could go up next year, by 4.3 %.
Commissioners voted to increase the millage cap to pay for retirement fund contributions required by the state.
The tentative millage rate is now 3.43.
On the average home value in Okaloosa County, that would increase property taxes by $17 a year.
Commissioners will vote on the final budget in September.
