Update: Pensacola Beach Air Show goes on
PENSACOLA BEACH -- Who says the Blue Angels won't be at the Air Show?
OK, these aren't the real things, but that didn't stop people from coming out to have a good time.
No ,these planes aren't blue, and they're certainly not the F-18 Hornets we're used seeing at the Pensacola Beach Airshow.
"It's kind of disappointing the Blue Angels aren't here, so trying to get people from out of town is difficult now."
This is the 15th year the Shue family has come to the Pensacola Airshow, and to them it's a summer tradition.
But this year, sequestration budget cuts have grounded the Blue Angels, a staple to the Pensacola Airshow.
But even in their absence, their presence was felt.
"What are your thoughts on that shirt? I'd rather see them in the sky but at least everybody's out here supporting them."
Even without the Blues, other aircraft still dazzled the crowd.
"It's been real exciting. We saw one guy earlie; it was exciting to see him almost touching the water."
"To see some new planes we've never saw before, we've been here for so many years we know standard of what's going to happen in the show so I think this year it'll be a little not different."
"Gonna miss the Blue Angels. Disappointed about that, but hopefully next year."
