Homeless man attacked near Liberty Church in Pensacola

Last Tuesday, Bradley Kocian was sleeping here at Liberty Church on Nine Mile Road.
It's a place he's been sleeping for years. On that morning, he woke up to someone stomping and kicking him.

"I noticed blood on my hands... And I had to call 9-1-1"

Kocian was stabbed twice in the back, the marks are still clearly visible.
He was treated at Sacred Heart Hospital and stayed there for almost a week.

"I'm not very mobile right now. There's no way I can afford the pain medication they gave me.  I'm basically in pain."

Kocian has no idea why he was attacked or who is responsible.

"I believe it's a senseless crime. They attacked me because I'm homeless.  I've never done anything incorrect."

The most heartbreaking part for Kocian---the three teenagers stole his backpack.  Inside there were clothes and about 15 dollars in cash.  But it's also where he kept his birth certificate and social security card.

"I have nowhere to go; nowhere to stay.  I'm back where I was. I ain't got nothing," Kocian says.
