Crestview Police Chief trying to repair damage to the city
CRESTVIEW -- Crestview Police Chief Tony Taylor has been working to repair the damage from the corruption scandal since he took over the department last fall.
He's asking citizens to come out to "Coffee with a Cop" and weigh in on what the department can do better.
Coffee with a Cop is a national program supported by the Department of Justice.
It's a chance for citizens to meet officers on neutral ground.
Chief Tony Taylor "The community needs to move beyond this, and begin the healing process."
Jane Ward "We always appreciate our police department. They have a tough job, you know, but our safety is number one"
Coffee with a Cop is next Wednesday morning at 8 am at the Tropical Palm Restaurant in Crestview.
