Defense Department cuts amount of federal furlough days

WASHINGTON DC   --  Good news for many federal workers.
The Defense Department is reducing the number of furlough days.

This is Week Five of the federal furloughs.
Workers have been taking an extra day off each week without pay.
Today, Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel said he was cutting furlough days from eleven down to six.
So, it'll be back to normal after next week.
Hagel said the reduction is possible in part because the Defense Department found other ways to cut costs.
