Department of housing to push for funding to help homeless vets

FORT WALTON -- The Fort Walton Beach Public Housing Authority is getting federal funding to help homeless veterans get into permanent homes. It's part of a nationwide push by the Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Department of Veterans Affairs. They are giving over seven million dollars to several local public housing agencies across the country. The money will provide housing and clinical services for around 1100 homeless veterans.

Veterans who need Housing Assistance can call 609-2604.
