Pink Glove Dance sweeps medical centers across the nation
It's the "Pink Glove Dance" -- and it's sweeping medical centers across the nation. Hundreds of Sacred Heart Hospital and Nemours Children Clinic Associates are puttin' on their pink gloves and "boogying" down.
Each department uses props and a special soundtrack to "bust a move" for breast cancer awareness.
The Pink Glove Dance competition was also created by Medline (were a medical supply company based in Illinois) and started in 2011.First place winners will receive $25,000 in their name for a breast cancer charity of their choice.
The Sacred Heart and Nemours Team has a twist. Since September is Childhood Cancer Awareness month -- they're adding some gold, childhood cancer's ribbon color -- to the mix.
"Were actually doing it on behalf of the children's hospital and Nemours Children's Clinic never heard of a children's clinic or hospital doing it."
These Pink Glove Dancers are from the oncology division at Nemours. If their routine takes first place -- the prize money goes toward programs at the winning facility.
