New details in police officer's death

An update this morning on a story Channel Three news broke yesterday on 3 In The Morning.

This is a picture of the Orange Beach police officer who was killed late Tuesday night in Baldwin County. 45-year-old Michael Stockwell served nearly ten years with the Orange Beach Police Department.

He was off duty and heading home to Elberta last night when his city-owned SUV crashed at County Road 12 on the Foley Beach Express.

The woman who was driving the other car was not hurt. Stockwell was working with the narcotics unit and was a firearms instructor.

"I'm going to miss him, I was starting to depend on him for certain things so i'm really going to miss him," said Billy Wilkins.

Stockwell leaves behind two daughters.
