Food trailers coming to Crestview

Crestview - A new trending food concept is coming to downtown Crestview. Three gourmet food trucks will be added to a vacant lot on Main Street.

"Right now this is just a vacant piece of property in downtown Crestview, but pretty soon it will be lined up with food trailers ready to serve customers," said Nathan Boyles.

The food court "Crestview Commons" will have three gourmet food trucks. Two, will remain stationary and the other will change weekly.

"We hope to have several units that will rotate out on a weekly bases," said Boyles.

Crestview Commons will have restrooms, landscaping, and patio dining. The concept is based loosely on Alfresco's in downtown Pensacola.

"We hope to kind of have a set of covenants that will require units to have some type of authentic feel to them that will be unique and attractive to downtown Crestview," said Boyles.

Other area businesses like The Office Lounge say they think the new addition will bring a youthful  feel to downtown and new clientel ready to shop, eat, and drink.

"We have people coming in late night and everything and they'd be able to go over there and get a late night snack," said Jenny Batson, Manager at The Office Lounge.

Vendors are already waiting to sign up.

"I've probably had at least a half dozen vendors who that are very interested in working in this and we want to kind of get ground broke before we sign any leases with any one," said Boyles.

Construction on the Crestview Commons will start in the next few months.
