Okaloosa County commissioners approve Local Option Sales Tax

OKALOOSA COUNTY   --  People in Okaloosa County will be paying more to fill up their gas tanks next year.
County commissioners approved a three-cent hike in the "local option gas tax".

The money can only be used for transportation projects, such as road improvements.
The revenue will be divided between the county and individual cities where the tax is collected.
   
The 3-cent-per-gallon increase goes into effect January 1st.
