Milton city council approves 5 year master plan

MILTON   --  Big changes are coming to Milton.
The city council approved a 5 year master plan that includes a complete makeover of the city's riverfront.

There are 60 to 80 million dollars worth of projects outlined in the plan.
Parts of the plan would transform the riverfront into a New Orleans style walkway.

Other projects will improve the overall look and feel of public spaces.

The idea is to attract more tourists and businesses to the city and the village of Bagdad.

Brooke Coulter, Milton: "We do need to get more young people active in this area because a lot of young people are going to Pensacola."

The city will look for funding for the plan from a variety of sources.
Including potential settlement money from the lawsuit filed over the 2010 BP Oil Spill, as well as federal and state grants.
