Pensacola man has close encounter with waterspout

PENSACOLA -- A Pensacola man gets up close and personal with a water spout-- the whole thing caught on camera.
The video was shot on Labor Day. Robert Hill and his family decided to chase the water spout while out on a boat near the 3-Mile Bridge.
Robert Hill and his family decided to take the boat out on what seemed to be a beautiful Labor Day, but the weather wasn't cooperating. They waited underneath the 3-Mile Bridge for the storm to pass but ended up seeing something interesting take a look.
This water spout formed right in front of them.
That's when Hill decided to chase it. His two kids taped it on their phones, Hill drove the boat, and his wife made sure everyone was safe. Look how close he gets to the water spoutHe assured they were never in trouble.  The water spout was moving slowly and he felt confident he could out-run it.
I asked him if he's ever seen a water spout before and he said yes, but never this close up.
"It was noisy.  It was awesome to see it," Hill said.
He uploaded the video on YouTube and has more than 2,000 views.
