Out-of-state residents may pay more in insurance
Out-of-state residents who own property in Florida could once again pay the price to cut the number of policies at state-backed citizens property insurance.
Representative Bill Hager says lawmakers may discuss stopping people who don't live in the state from being eligible for coverage from citizens next year.
A similar proposal was discussed during the 2013 session -- but nothing came from the talks.
The state-backed company had $1.22 million policies as of July 31.
