Gulf Breeze police request flashlights

The Gulf Breeze Police Chief wants to spend around 25-hundred dollars on flashlights for guns.

Chief Robert Randle says officers recently started carrying holsters that are built so flashlights can be attached to the handguns.
The department's drug asset forfeiture fund is now at 46-thousand dollars.
Chief Randle wants to use about 25-hundred dollars of that fund to buy twenty-three weapon flashlights.
He says they are necessary to keep officers safe.

"It's a tactical advantage to be able to alleviate one hand while we are searching a building looking for a suspect or bad guy."

The city will consider the chief's request.
