Bill introduced to cut Florida vehicle and license fees
State Representative and Pensacola Republican Mike Hill wants to lower the cost of license and vehicle fees.
It used to cost just 20 dollars to renew your license.
But in 2009 that fee more than doubled to to 48 dollars.
That was after the state increased motor vehicle fees to help cover a budget deficit during the great recession.
The money helps pay for everything from schools to the salaries of state employees.
Representative Mike Hill's bill would bring fees back down to where they were before the 2009 increase.
A final decision on Representative Hill's bill won't be made until the next state legislative session begins in March of 2014.
