Exemptions to Florida 10-20 Life law
FLORIDA -- A Florida lawmaker wants to let people fire warning shots if they are threatened. Representative Neil Combee filed the bill. He says it would let people defend themselves, and exempt them from the state's 10-20-Life law.
That law requires anyone who shows a gun while committing certain felonies, to be sentenced to 10 years in prison. If someone is shot and wounded during the crime, the sentence increases to 25 years to life.
