Locals express different thoughts about tropical storm

PENSACOLA BEACH -- As the storm gets closer, some are trying to gage the forecast on their own.  Some are getting worried; others say the storm is just going to dump a bunch of rain on the area.
People live on or near Pensacola Beach are preparing for the storm in many ways. Some are playing it safe others are sitting back and watching.
Resident Tammie Hughes said, "Watching the weather staying home."
Cabin fever might run rampant by the end of this storm. Those who have rode out many storms say you have to 'take short adventures' every once in a while.
Hughes said, "Might come out. I like to watch when the water gets rough."
But for others who are visiting from other parts of the country... A storm like this is something new.
Rob Webel, visiting from Atlanta said, "I feel safe, I don't think it's going to get that bad. I'm looking forward to it actually."
Mary McClain is visiting from Tulsa. She's airing on the side of caution.
McClain said, "I'm loving every minute of it. So I just like to stay longer but we got to go home."
For the most part those vacationing this weekend say they'll make the best of the situation.
William Cloward California visitor said, "We're going to hang out, play cards, whatever it takes."
"There's no surf in California, so here it's cool to see the big waves."
It's important to understand even if you don't think there will be devastating weather. It's a good idea to make sure you have plenty of water, food, necessary medications.
