Food stamp program aid to decrease
3.6 million people who receive benefits from the SNAP program - also known as Food Stamps - may see their aid decrease.
Up to 39-billion dollars in cuts are possible for the program.
That's because funds from the Stimulus Package are scheduled to expire Thursday.
Currently, people on food stamps have about five dollars a day to spend on food.
With the cuts to the SNAP program - funds will decrease and many may turn to food pantries for help.
Zach McGee:"As the community responds with the higher need our food banks do a really good job on meeting those needs."
The senate and House are set to discuss the possible cuts tomorrow.
