Mobile County confirmed 2nd case of Vibrio Vulnificus bacteria

MOBILE COUNTY   --  There are now two confirmed cases of the flesh eating bacteria Vibrio Vulnificus in Mobile County.

Health officials say one of the men died in late September after contracting the illness.
The other man has been hospitalized since October 6th in Mobile.
Both had contact with seawater in South Mobile County while tending to crab traps.
The bacteria thrives in warm brackish seawater.
It can enter your system by eating infected oysters or through a flesh wound while out swimming.
28-cases have been reported in Florida in the past few weeks resulting in 9-deaths.
There has been one case confirmed in Santa Rosa County and one confirmed in Escambia County.
