Fmr Congresswoman Gabby Giffords attends gun show

SARATOGA SPRINGS -- Former congresswoman Gabby Giffords went to her first gun show since being shot in the head in 2011. She and her husband -- retired astronaut Mark Kelly -- hit the Saratoga Springs gun show in upstate New York today.  Both say they are supporters of the second amendment right to bear arms -- and own guns themselves -- but they're pushing for stricter gun control laws.
Giffords is campaigning for a federal law requiring background checks on purchasers at gun shows.
"Stopping gun violence takes courage.  The courage to do what's right, the courage of new ideas.  I've seen more courage when my life was on the line.  Now is the time to come together."
Giffords says she chose New York because gun shows in the state already require background checks.
